Underwriting · PLANNED
Mortgage Intelligence for the reasoning behind the decision.
Designed to connect borrower, property, program, policy, evidence, calculations, and conditions into a coherent underwriting view.
Planned means: a committed direction. There is no application to evaluate yet. There is no Underwriting application to buy, pilot or evaluate today, and this page does not describe one. It describes the problem domain and the intended direction.
What exists today: the shared Mortgage Intelligence Platform and the QC application, which is available for evaluation on controlled files.
The job
What this application is for
Connect borrower, property, program, policy, evidence, calculations, and conditions into one coherent underwriting view.
Mortgage reasoning for income, assets, liabilities, credit, collateral, eligibility, conditions, policy, and exceptions. The same six pillars that serve quality control serve this stage: the canonical mortgage record, effective-dated knowledge, domain reasoning, deterministic tools, the evidence record and mortgage-specific evaluation. What changes is the decision being supported and the requirements that apply to it.
Quality control is where the platform proves that intelligence can be accountable. Underwriting is where the same accountability would be applied before the loan closes, and it earns its place by demonstrated capability on real files rather than by appearing here.
Intended scope
The problem areas this application is designed around
A description of direction, not of a product. Every item below is intended scope unless the status above says otherwise.
- Qualifying income
- Assets and reserves
- Liabilities and debt-to-income
- Credit context
- Collateral
- Eligibility
- AUS findings
- Documentation sufficiency
- Conditions
- Exceptions and overlays
- Policy and version applicability
What you can evaluate today
The shared platform, through quality control
The intelligence layer underneath this application is the one underneath QC, and QC runs on real files today. A working session on a synthetic file, or on de-identified files of your own, shows the platform's approach to documents, data, policy, calculations, exceptions and evidence in the stage where it is already accountable.
If your interest is specifically this stage, say so. The design conversation is genuinely useful to us now, and we will be straight about where the work stands and whether the timing fits.
