Our aim
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA on this website. We are stating that as a target we work to, not as a certified result, because no independent audit has been carried out.
What we have done and verified
Colour contrast. Text and background combinations were checked programmatically against the WCAG contrast formula, 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text. One failure found during that check was fixed.
Semantic structure. Pages use real headings in order, real lists and real tables, so a screen reader can navigate them.
Motion is limited and respects your settings. One diagram on the home page animates a flow line. It carries no information that is not also in the text beside it, and it stops for anyone whose system requests reduced motion. There is no autoplaying media and no carousel.
Works without JavaScript. There is none, including the enquiry form, which is a plain HTML form rather than a scripted widget. Nothing on the site depends on scripting, so it works in any browser and any assistive technology.
Text scales. Layout uses relative units, so browser zoom and enlarged default font sizes reflow the page rather than clipping it.
What we know is not finished
Diagrams. Our articles include figures conveying real information. They have accessible titles, but they do not yet have full text alternatives describing everything the diagram shows. In every case the surrounding article states the same point in prose. We are working on proper long descriptions.
No assistive-technology testing. We have not yet tested with screen readers in a structured way, or had the site audited by anyone with lived experience of using one. Until we have, treat the AA claim above as our intent rather than a result.
PDFs and downloads. Any document we publish for download has not been separately remediated for accessibility.
